WOLFGANG TILLMANS: AFTER DARK x PIN–UP x CLUB GLAM

On September 9, 2022, PIN–UP celebrated current cover artist with Wolfgang Tillmans: After Dark, a party in collaboration with New York nightlife institution Club Glam. To contrast the uptown festivities around Tillmans’s first survey show at the Museum of Modern Art, Club Glam and PIN–UP set up shop in an Irish pub near Wall Street, just a few hundred feet from where two decades earlier the collapse of the Twin Towers heralded the beginning of the new century. Music was provided by an all-star musical line-up that included Arca, Avalon Lurks, Big Gay Idiot dj, Danny Taylor, and Skype Williams. Performance artist No Bra, whose portrait is also part of the MoMA exhibition, played for the crowd of nearly 400, while the same amount of people staggered in line outside in the heat of the late summer night, waiting to make it past the door.
