PAULIN PARTY

PIN–UP and DWR Celebrate the Re-Edition of Pierre Paulin’s F300 by GUBI

by PIN–UP

To celebrate the exclusive North American launch of GUBI’s re-edition of Pierre Paulin’s iconic F300 chair, PIN–UP and Design Within Reach hosted a party during the 2025 edition of NYCxDESIGN. The F300 is also featured on the cover of PIN–UP XXL, featuring model Mariina Keskitalo, and copies of the special edition were seen all over DWR’s SoHo showroom. A defining piece of Pierre Paulin’s oeuvre, the F300 is the pinnacle of space-age comfort, with a futuristic, curved silhouette that embodies the designer’s signature balance between “sculpture, elegance, and comfort,” according to his son, Benjamin Paulin, who runs Paulin, Paulin, Paulin — the studio dedicated to preserving the family legacy.

Such an iconic chair deserved a similarly iconic celebration, which DWR (along with PIN–UP and GUBI) delivered in spades. Along with PIN–UP’s XXL edition, there was a custom F300 vinyl featuring tracks composed by Marco Shuttle. GUBI’s own F300 publication was also on display, as were up to 20 F300 chairs (and T877 side tables), upholstered in shades of Khaki, Rust, and Fog.

With DJ SHU-G on the decks, guests (including DWR’s creative director Omar Nobil and GUBI CEO Marie Kristine Schmidt) sipped custom margaritas kept cold by a DWR-stamped ice cube, while reluctantly snacking from the inventive food installations by Jen Monroe, which looked almost too artful to eat. A sculpture of olives shaped like a handbag, a jelly station, a crudité smorgasbord with challah shaped into slithering snakes, and a table of cured meats were strewn directly atop DWR’s for-sale tables across the space. We heard the refrain, “Have you seen the saucisson table?” thrown around at least once.
