PIN–UP X VITRA: CELEBRATING NEW YORK DESIGN WEEK WITH ROBERT STADLER, VERNER PANTON, AND DESE ESCOBAR

Typecasting, an exhibition curated by Robert Stadler for Vitra during Milan Design Week, 2018.

PIN–UP is teaming up with Vitra to celebrate NYCxDesign starting with a talk on Sunday, May 20, 2018 with Paris-based designer Robert Stadler, who curated Vitra’s Typecasting, the celebrated exhibition presented during the recent Milan Design Week. Stadler will be discussing both his curatorial work as well as his own design practice, which includes a recent exhibition at the Noguchi Museum in New York. The conversation will be lead by PIN–UP editor and publisher Felix Burrichter and will be followed by cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and music by Dese Escobar, creator of Thotlandia. Also on view during Sunday’s the event will be Pantonia, a cinematic homage to Verner Panton and his iconic Panton Chair which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Produced by PIN–UP and directed by Jonathan Turner, the three-minute film introduces Vitra’s limited-edition versions of the Panton Chair’s Chrome and Glow editions, immersing them in a captivating sci-fi fantasia.
